The 90 second rule
Often when we are feeling a bit crappy we get caught up in stories and self judgement around the reason why we are feeling crappy.
The common response is to distract and avoid and to choose not to sit with the negative feeling and instead we distract and ruminate, this actually prolongs the discomfort.
The key to feeling better is to allow yourself to FEEL the negative emotion. This may sound counter intuitive, but when we choose to witness and experience the negative emotions we can then release the emotion and process it.
