trust+Action= Momentum

When we talk about belief, it can feel daunting, like something we’re supposed to summon instantly and completely.
But here’s the truth: belief isn’t a switch to flip; it’s a process. And it’s okay if you’re not there yet.

For us creatives, artists, and designers, this can be especially tough. We’re prone to overthinking, comparing, and doubting. We see someone else’s work and convince ourselves we’ll never measure up. We get so stuck in our heads that we stop creating entirely, paralysed by the pressure to get it “perfect” right out of the gate.

But here’s the thing: belief isn’t about having all the answers or feeling certain 24/7. It’s about trusting the process, trusting that with each step forward, clarity will come. And the most important part? Pairing that trust with action. Because belief isn’t just a mindset; it’s a practice. And action, no matter how small, fuels it.

What Belief Really Looks Like

Belief isn’t perfect, and it’s not linear. It’s a quiet knowing that grows stronger the more we nurture it. It’s reminding ourselves that what we’re working toward is possible, even if we can’t yet see the results.

There are three key shifts I’ve found helpful in this process:

  1. Releasing the need for immediate evidence It’s easy to think, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” But what if we flipped that? What if believing it is what helps us see it? Instead of waiting for proof, we can focus on the small signs, a spark of inspiration, a supportive connection, or a synchronicity, that remind us we’re on the right track.

  2. Taking small, aligned steps For creatives, this is where the magic happens. Stop overthinking. Start creating. Sketch the first draft. Write the first sentence. Publish the first piece, even if it’s not perfect. Every small action you take creates momentum. These steps tell the universe you’re serious, and they help you build confidence along the way.

  3. Trusting the process This is the hardest part, especially during challenging times. But trust isn’t about ignoring reality; it’s about acknowledging that things can change, sometimes in ways we don’t expect. It’s about staying open to opportunities and being willing to pivot when necessary.

Where Are You Leaning Into Belief?

If you’re reading this, perhaps you’re in a season of doubt or just starting to feel the gentle pull of hope again.
Wherever you are, know this: belief doesn’t have to feel perfect or complete. It grows through action, energy, and trust. Every small step you take today builds momentum for tomorrow, creating ripples that expand your capacity to dream, create, and achieve.

What’s one thing you can do right now to shift into alignment? Maybe it’s committing 30 minutes to a project you’ve been putting off, reaching out to someone for support, drafting and sending that email to the client you’ve been dreaming of working with, or simply reminding yourself of the magic you bring to the world. By focusing on what’s possible and taking aligned action, you’ll spark a chain reaction that invites more opportunities and synchronicities than you could imagine.

Your current circumstances are just a chapter, not the whole story. Lean in, take one imperfect step, and trust that the pieces are falling into place. The universe is responding to your energy, what you put in today will shape the tomorrow you’re dreaming of.
