Transformation

Things are not broken, they are being transformed. Life is about experiencing all of the emotions, joy, pain, excitement, fear and everything in between.

Sometimes things just really suck and other times everything in life is bloody great, and that is all part of the Yin and Yang of life.

Often when shit happens and we push against it, we think that by resisting we’ll bring an end to discomfort, but it doesn't, this actually creates more discomfort.

Those shitty feelings are okay, there is no need to judge them. They are actually helpful as they can help you to create something different in your life if you allow them to.

The key is to look at your thoughts and feelings around the situation, once you create some awareness around why you're feeling the way that you do around the situation, then choose deliberately how you want to look at the situation, how you want to feel and what you want to do. This will help you to feel empowered and help you to move forward in your life.

Shit going wrong can be truly transformative, if you let it. I always liked to think I can control everything and if I controlled everything in the world it would be fabulous. But truth is, if you can allow yourself to not be in control and accept what is, you will find relief. This also is when you introduce ease and become a creator, you are responsible for you and you get to decide what happens next in your life.

We are given a powerful choice when something shit happens, we get to decide how we move forward from there, we don’t need to go along with the tide.

I believe that there is a lesson in everything, don’t  rush to find the gift or the lesson too soon, give yourself space to be sad/pissed/shocked first, this is all part of the transformation.

What would unfold if you released your grasp on what you thought was ‘supposed’ to be?

We cannot see the gift in what we resist.

To help you build you awareness around what is going of for you right now I have put together some questions for you to ask yourself, about the thought that is causing you to feel terrible:

  1. What is the ‘negative’ thought I am currently thinking about what has happened?

  2. Why am I choosing this thought?

  3. Why am I choosing to believe it?

  4. What part of my thought is my opinion?

  5. What would you say to a young child if they were thinking this thought?

  6. Write down x3 thoughts that feel better (that you can truly believe)

  7. What is funny about the original thought (find anything that could be even slightly funny

  8. How would your life change if you changed this one thought?

  9. Is there anything you would like to change in your life now that this has happened?

  10. What is the new thought you want to think about the situation? Re-write it until you truly believe it

If you want to learn more about overcoming the thoughts that hold you back, I can help you! Book you’re free mini session  here
